The Journey to the Spire

1998

A Vision Takes Shape

Marcus Thorne first laid eyes on this mountain peak during a solo hiking trip. Covered in mist and mystery, he knew this wasn't just another piece of land - it was where something special needed to exist. He spent the next year camping here, sketching plans on napkins, dreaming of what could be.

2003

Breaking Ground

After years of planning and working with local craftspeople, construction finally began. We didn't want to just build on the mountain - we wanted to build with it. Every stone, every timber beam was chosen to honor the landscape. The locals thought we were crazy for the attention to detail, but that's kinda our thing.

2006

Opening Our Doors

Spring arrived and so did our first guests. Just twelve suites at first - we wanted to get it right before going bigger. Those early visitors became part of our family, sharing feedback over wine by the fireplace. Some still come back every year, and honestly, that means more than any award ever could.

2012

Expanding the Experience

Our guests kept asking for more ways to connect with the mountain, so we added the wellness center and expanded our adventure programs. The spa was carved into the mountainside - literally. Walking into those treatment rooms feels like entering a natural cave, because well, you kind of are.

2018

Sustainability First

We overhauled everything to go carbon-neutral. Solar panels, geothermal heating, a full organic garden that feeds our restaurant - it wasn't cheap, but the mountain's been good to us, and we figured it's time to return the favor. Our chef now spends mornings picking herbs instead of calling suppliers.

Today & Tomorrow

We're still that same boutique spot at heart, just a bit wiser and more weathered. Every season brings new stories, new faces, and new reasons to pinch ourselves that this dream actually worked out. Look, I'm not gonna pretend I had some grand master plan from day one. Truth is, I was burnt out from corporate life and needed to reconnect with something real. Found it up here on this mountain.

What we've built isn't just about luxury - though yeah, we've got that covered. It's about creating a space where people can actually breathe, where the only deadline is sunset, and where that knot in your shoulders finally starts to loosen.

We're not perfect, but we're genuine. Our team treats this place like it's their own mountain retreat, because honestly, it kinda is.
